A man who was reported missing in the Tayside area has been found safe and well by police.

Enquiries were underway to find a man by the name of ‘Andrew McLeod’, who was last seen in Montrose at the beginning of February and had been reported missing ‘in good faith’.

Police established the photograph, name, and age in their appeal for assistance was not a true identity of the missing man.

But he has since been found safe and well.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers have carried out enquiries into the appeal for information to help trace missing 39-year-old Andrew McLeod from the Auchterhouse area of Tayside.

“The man was reported missing in good faith and we have now traced him and he is safe and well.

“Enquiries established that the photograph, name and age in the appeal was not a true identity.”
