An ambulance worker who died on duty is to be honoured with a minute’s applause during a Raith Rovers game this weekend.
Gary Todd from Kirkcaldy died suddenly while on duty as a technician with the Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) on Thursday, October 23.
The 41-year-old, known as Toddy or GT, has been described as a “much-loved” son, brother, partner and amazing friend to many.
Kenny Freeburn, east regional director at SAS said: “We are deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague and our heartfelt condolences go to his family, friends and colleagues at this very difficult time.”
He was a lifelong Raith Rovers supporter, and fans are due to hold a minute’s applause on the 41st minute of Saturday’s home match with Greenock Morton.
The club wrote on X: “Everyone at Raith Rovers is deeply saddened to hear of the sudden passing of lifelong supporter Gary Todd.
“We send our heartfelt condolences to his loved ones and hope that supporters will join in a minute’s applause in the 41st minute of this Saturday’s game.”
Raith Rovers Supporters Club said on Facebook: “He was a lifelong Raith Rovers supporter. He brought love, friendship and laughter everywhere he went.
“He will be hugely missed and never forgotten by all who knew and loved him.”
