A man’s body has been pulled from a harbour in Moray following a search operation on Wednesday.

Emergency services were called to the East Pier in Lossiemouth at around 3.55pm following reports of a body in the water.

A coastguard helicopter, along with teams from Buckie and Burghead, as well as an RNLI lifeboat from Buckie, were dispatched to assist with the search.

A deceased male was recovered from the water. An investigation into the death is ongoing, however, detectives do not believe the incident is suspicious.

A report is due to be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.55pm on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, we received a report of a body in the water near the East Pier in Lossiemouth.

“Emergency services attended, and the body of a man was recovered from the water.

“Enquiries are ongoing but there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
