A man has been rushed to hospital following a fire at a home in Aberdeen.

Crews rushed to the Loirston Way area in Cove at around 4am on Friday, June 16 following reports of the blaze.

A 44-year-old man was taken for treatment at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and the fire was extinguished.

Officers from Police Scotland also attended the incident and an investigation is now under way.

“Around 4am on Friday, June 16 we were made aware of a fire on Loirston Way, Aberdeen,” a spokesperson for the force said.

“Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished. 

“A 44-year-old man was taken to hospital and enquiries are ongoing.”
