A man sexually assaulted and raped an underage schoolgirl in a parked car in Fife.
Owen Robertson, 24, assaulted the 13-year-old in a vehicle at East Sands, in St Andrews, and near White Bridge, Glenrothes, in Fife on occasions between January 20 and February 12 in 2023.
During the abuse he put the girl on his lap, molested her, exposed himself and got the girl to carry out a sex act on him.
On one occasion during the same period, he raped the victim in a car parked at East Sands.
Robertson, of Springfield, in Fife, had denied a series of charges during a trial at the High Court in Edinburgh but was convicted of two offences.
He was acquitted of a further charge which alleged that he assaulted the girl in September 2003 in a parked car near Auchtermuchty and at Ladybank in Fife.
The trial judge, Lord Young, called for a background report to be prepared on Robertson ahead of sentencing at the High Court in Livingston next month.
He told Robertson, who was on bail during his trial: “You will be remanded in custody until sentence.”
Robertson was placed on the sex offenders’ register.
