A man has died after being found unresponsive at the shoreline of a coastal village in Aberdeenshire.

The alarm was raised after reports of concern for a person near Rosehearty at around 1pm on Wednesday.

Emergency crews attended, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At around 1pm on Wednesday, August 5, we received a report of a person unresponsive at the shoreline near Rosehearty.

“Emergency services attended, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The death is not believed to be suspicious, and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.”
