A 29-year-old suspect has been arrested and charged following an incident in Buckie on Monday afternoon.

A man has been charged in connection with an attempted robbery in Moray.

Police launched an investigation after a shop worker was held up at knifepoint at a convenience store in St Paul Street, Buckie, on Monday.

Officers said no one was injured in the incident, which happened at around 4.45pm, and the suspect fled empty-handed.

On Wednesday, the force confirmed a 29-year-old man had been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and is due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court later in the day.

Detective sergeant Robbie Williams, of Elgin CID, said: “We would like to thank the members of the public who shared and assisted with our appeal.”
