A man has been charged in connection with a house fire and a car theft.

Emergency services were called to Sandy Road in New Elgin at around 12.45pm on November 13, 2024, following reports of a blaze.

The fire was extinguished and no one was injured.

Officers have charged a 39-year-old man in connection with the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 39-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a house fire and theft of a car in New Elgin.

“Around 12.45pm on Wednesday, 13 November, 2024, emergency services were called to Sandy Road and the fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

“There were no reports of any injuries.

“A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
