Man charged after woman left injured at roundabout in 'hit and run'

A 44-year-old was taken to hospital after being struck near the A96 Auchmill Road in Aberdeen on Sunday evening.

A man has been arrested and charged after a woman was found seriously injured at a roundabout following an alleged hit and run in Aberdeen.

Police were called to the A96 on Auchmill Road, near the Bucksburn roundabout, at around 6.35pm on Sunday after receiving reports that a 44-year-old woman had been struck by a vehicle.

Emergency services took the woman to hospital where her condition was described as serious.

Her current condition is unknown.

Following an investigation, officers confirmed that a 37-year-old man had been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

He is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court at a later date.
