Man charged after pet killed and woman injured following dog attack

A man has been charged in connection with a dog attack which resulted in one dog dying and a woman being injured in Perthshire.

Police were called to High Street and Burns Begg Street, in Kinross, at around 2.30pm on October 20 after three dogs attacked four other dogs.

One dog died, and two others were injured and taken to the vet for treatment. A woman sustained minor injuries when she fell and was treated at the scene.

Police seized four dogs from a property in the town, which they have confirmed were not XL Bully dogs or a banned breed.

Officers have since charged a 28-year-old man in connection with offences under the Dangerous Dog Act.

A report is due to be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
