A man is due to appear in court after nearly quarter of a million worth of drugs were found at a property in Aberdeen.

Police executed a warrant at the property in the Kirkhill Road area of the city around 8.45am on Thursday where a 24-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with drug offences.

Cannabis plants with a potential street value of £240,000 were allegedly discovered by Police Scotland’s Community Investigation Unit.

The man is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Friday.

Sergeant Mark Rennie said: “Drugs cause misery in our communities and Police Scotland is committed to disrupting the cultivation and sale of illegal substances.

“The public has an important role to play and we ask anyone with information or concerns about drugs to contact us via 101 or make a call anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
