People living in a tower block in Aberdeen have been left disgusted after lifts and doors were left covered in faecal matter.

The incidents happened on multiple dates between June and July at Hutcheon Court.

Residents reported their homes being repeatedly targeted and police issued an appeal for information.

They said both elevators, a number of handles and doors in the block were smeared with “human or dog poo”.

On Monday, police said a 39-year-old man had been arrested and charged in connection with culpable and reckless conduct.

They said it follows an investigation into reports of faecal matter being smeared on locations in Hutcheon Court.

The man is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Tuesday, and police said a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
