Man charged after £200k cocaine seizure on A90 near Aberdeen

A man has been arrested and charged after cocaine worth an estimated £200,000 was found on the outskirts of Aberdeen.

Police stopped a car on the A90 on Thursday and discovered the large quantity of drugs.

A 39-year-old man is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court at a later date.

Inspector Steve Manson, from the North East Road Policing Unit, said: “Drugs cause real harm to our communities, and we’re committed to using every tactic at our disposal to disrupt this type of illegal activity.

“This was a significant recovery, carried out alongside our colleagues from the Specialist Crime Division, meaning hundreds of thousands of pounds of drugs will be kept off our streets.

“Information from members of the public is vital to our work and we would continue to encourage anyone with information or concerns about drug to get in touch with officers.”
