A man has been arrested following a protest outside an Aberdeen flat block.

The gathering took place at Persley Den View in the north of the city on Thursday afternoon.

This protest was organised by Unite the Clans, formerly known as Aberdeen Against Illegal Migration, who have been responsible for several protests across Aberdeen.

It was suggested by Unite the Clans that a girl was being held against her will at the flat block, but police confirmed there is nothing to suggest someone was being held hostage.

During the gathering, officers arrested a man involved with the protest.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.45pm on Thursday, July 16, we were made aware of a crowd gathered and a disturbance at a property on Persley Den View.

“A 29-year-old man was arrested in connection and issued a Recorded Police Warning.”

“The group later dispersed.”
