A man has been arrested after a ladder smashed through the window of an Aberdeenshire school bus on Friday, causing it to crash.

Police were called to reports of a crash on the B994 Kemnock at around 8.15am on November 4.

A ladder which was attached to a van travelling in the opposite lane crashed into the windscreen and two side windows of the bus.

Officers have now confirmed that a 37-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

No one was injured in the incident. Fubar News

He was released on an undertaking and will appear in court at a later date.

Police said that the bus driver sustained some minor injuries which did not require medical treatment.

No other injuries were reported on the bus which was reportedly carrying 60 pupils.

A police spokesperson said: “Following a crash involving a school bus on the B994 near Kemnay that happened around 8.15am on Friday, November 4, we can confirm that a 37-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences.

“He was released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date and a report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
