A man has been arrested after an early morning disturbance in Coupar Angus.

Police were called to the scene just after 5.30am on Friday on Strathmore Avenue in the Princes Croft area of the town.

Residents and the wider public were urged to avoid the area while emergency services attended the scene.

A 20-year-old man has now been arrested in connection to a number of offences related to the incident.

It is unclear if any injuries were caused by the incident.

In a statement police said: “Police attended a report of a disturbance in the Princes Croft area of Coupar Angus, around 5.35am on Friday, June 23.

“A 20-year-old man was arrested in connection with a number of offences and enquiries remain ongoing.

“The public are thanked for their patience.”
