A man and a teenager have been charged after a car containing £10,000 worth of cannabis crashed in Aberdeen.

Police say the vehicle failed to stop for officers on Mid Stocket Road and subsequently crashed around 8.30pm on Sunday, January 8.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested at the scene and released for further investigation.

It was later discovered that a quantity of cannabis was found within the vehicle with a estimated street value of £10,000.

Detectives later arrested and charged a 29-year-old man in connection with the incident.

He is expected to appear before Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

The 17-year-old was also reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

Detective Constable Rob Graham, from Aberdeen CID, said: “Drug misuse brings nothing but misery to our communities.

“I want to reassure people across the North East that Police Scotland will use every tool and tactic at our disposal to remove these illegal substances from our streets.”
