A man has been pronounced dead after falling unwell at a theatre in Aberdeen.

Emergency Services were called to the Tivoli Theatre on the city’s Guild Street on Thursday evening.

The 88-year-old man had taken unwell and was later pronounced dead.

The incident occurred around 7.40pm and police say the death is being treated as unexplained.

The Pride of Ireland show was cancelled as a mark of respect.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.40pm on Thursday, October 26, we received a report of a man having taken unwell at a premises on Guild Street, Aberdeen.

“Emergency services attended however an 88-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained although there are no suspicious circumstances.

“A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
