A man in Aberdeenshire was scammed out of hundreds of thousands of pounds in a cryptocurrency fraud.
The 75-year-old reported the scam to police in July 2024 after losing a six-figure sum of cash.
Police confirmed on Tuesday that two men, aged 36 and 54, have been charged in connection with fraud offences.
The 54-year-old man was arrested in Coventry while the 36-year-old man was arrested in Mexborough.
Following the arrests, Police Scotland urged members of the public to be mindful of fraudulent activity and to report it.
Detective Sergeant David Williamson said: “This operation demonstrates our commitment to ensuring people are protected from fraud. We will do everything in our power to bring those responsible to justice.
“I would also encourage members of the public to be mindful of activity which appears fraudulent and to report this to police.”
