A 74-year-old man has appeared in court charged with a series of indecent exposure incidents across St Andrews dating back to October last year.

Police say the incidents occurred primarily in the Kinburn Park and Cockshaugh Park areas between October 2025 and November 2026.

James Sinclair appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court on Thursday, where he faced seven charges under the Sexual Offences Act, including coercing a person into being present during a sexual activity.

The 74-year-old from St Andrews also faced a charge of public indecency.

Sinclair made no plea and was granted bail pending further examination. His next court appearance is yet to be confirmed.

Detective Sergeant Mark Millar said: “Incidents of this nature can cause a great deal of concern and distress within the local community and will not be tolerated.

“We’d like to thank members of the public for their assistance, which was vital during our investigation.

“We’d also urge anyone else who has witnessed this type of criminality to please get in touch with Police Scotland on 101.”
