A man has been injured following a disturbance at a home on Monday.

Emergency services were called to Balmain Street in Montrose at around 10.30pm after reports of an incident within a property.

A 72-year-old man was injured but was not taken to hospital. Officers arrested and charged a 50-year-old man in connection with the incident.

He is due in Forfar Sheriff Court at a later date.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.30pm on Monday, January 20, 2025,we received a report of a disturbance at a property on Balmain Street, Montrose. 

“Emergency services attended and one man, aged 72, was injured but did not attend hospital. 

“A 50-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection and is due to appear at Forfar Sheriff Court at a later date.”
