Pensioner fighting for life in hospital after being struck by car

A 68-year-old man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where staff described his condition as critical.

A pensioner is fighting for his life in hospital after being hit by a car in Aberdeen.

Emergency services were called to Seafield Road at 7.20pm on Wednesday after the 68-year-old was struck by a Volkswagen Golf.

He was taken by ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where staff described his condition as critical.

Those in the car were not injured.

Constable Geoff Smart, North East Roads Policing Unit, said: “Our enquiries into the cause of the crash are continuing.

“Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident and have not yet spoken to police to get in touch. Seafield Road is a main thoroughfare and there would have been a number of people in the area at the time.”
