A maintenance train, which “derailed at low speed” on the Aberdeen to Inverness line, is causing disruption for commuters.
ScotRail confirmed a track maintenance train between Huntly and Insch derailed overnight, causing the line to be blocked on Tuesday morning.
A re-railing team are on site, with services between Inverness and Aberdeen to terminate and start back at Huntly.
ScotRail said on X: “Ticket acceptance with Stagecoach North is in place between Aberdeen and Inverness on bus numbers 10 and M96.
“Limited rail replacement transport is available.
“Please note Montrose/Aberdeen – Inverurie trains are unaffected.”
