An investigation has been launched after three fires were deliberately set in Arbroath.

Emergency services were alerted to the blazes that happened on Thursday from around 4am on Bloomfield Gardens, Bloomfield Road and Warddykes Avenue.

Officers said the fires were extinguished prior to emergency services arriving.

There were no reported injuries.

Police Scotland is urging anyone with information regarding the fires to come forward.

Detective constable Darren Suttie said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of theses fire which we believe were wilful.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incidents and may have witnessed what happened or noticed anything suspicious to please contact us.

“In addition, anyone with private CCTV, doorbell or dash-cam footage of relevance is asked to get in touch as this may be able to assist.”

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting reference 0977 of August 28, 2025.

“Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
