Police have launched an investigation after a man was found injured in Aberdeen city centre.

Emergency services were called to Union Street near its junction with Bon Accord Street around 4.25am on Tuesday.

This was following reports that a man had been injured.

A ambulance spokesperson said: “We received a call at 04.36 to attend an incident on Union Street, Aberdeen.

“An ambulance was dispatched and one patient was transported to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”

It is understood that the area remained cordoned off with police officers patrolling the area.

Police say enquiries are ongoing to establish how the man came to be injured.

A spokesperson said: “Around 4.25am on Tuesday, October 6, we were called to a report of concern for a man found injured on Union Street, Aberdeen.

“The man was taken to hospital and enquiries are ongoing to establish how he came about his injury, and if any crime has taken place.”
