Police are investigating claims that a man offered to buy a child near a Tesco in Aberdeen.
The incident occurred close to the superstore on the Lang Stracht in the city on Monday.
A concerned grandmother took to social media to say that a white man in his late 40s, wearing a green jacket and with black curly hair, asked if her grandson “was for sale” outside the shop, while the boy’s mum was inside.
It is also claimed that the man said he had “a web page for children”.
Police Scotland has confirmed they are aware of the claims, and an investigation is ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers received a report of a man acting suspiciously on Lang Stracht, Aberdeen, on Monday, May 4, 2026.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
