A police investigation is under way following the sudden death of an infant in Angus.

Officers were called to the Bridge Street area of Brechin at around 11.50am on Tuesday, March 14, following the sudden death.

Circumstances surrounding the child’s death are currently unknown, and a probe is under way.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal, Police Scotland confirmed.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Around 11.50am on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, police were called to the Bridge Street area of Brechin, following the sudden death of an infant.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
