Northumbria PolicePolice have released images of a woman with a Scottish accent following an assault that left a man permanently scarred in England.
Officers in Tynemouth are keen to speak to the woman pictured after the assault in the Head of Steam pub at around 11pm on Saturday, July 13.
Northumbria Police said a man had a glass drink smashed into his face causing him to sustain serious facial injuries to his chin, lip, and nose.
He was taken to hospital for treatment and discharged but has been left with permanent scars.
Officers said the offender is believed to have a Scottish accent and was visiting the area with friends.
Police Scotland added that the woman is believed to have links to the Fife area.
A Northumbria Police statement read: “It was reported that a man had a glass drink smashed into his face by an offender.
“The victim sustained serious facial injuries to his chin, lip and nose and was taken to hospital for treatment.
“He has since been discharged but he has been left with permanent scars.
“Today we have released images of a woman we would like to identify. She was in the area at the time, and we believe she may be able to assist in our enquiries.

Police Scotland added on X: “Can you help our colleagues in Northumbria?
“They are looking to trace a woman following a report of an assault in North Tyneside.
“The woman is believed to have links to the Fife area.”
