A 38-year-old man was in the West Abbey Street area when he was robbed of a sum of cash and assaulted.

A hunt has been launched for two people after a man was attacked and robbed in Arbroath.

A 38-year-old man was in the West Abbey Street area when he was approached by a man and woman and robbed of a sum of cash and assaulted.

The incident happened at around 1pm on Thursday.

He did not require hospital treatment.

Police described the man as being around 30-years-old and around 5ft10 tall, of average build and wearing dark clothing.

The woman is described long blonde hair and was around 30-years-old.

Police Scotland is urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward.

Detective sergeant Dave Fearn said: “Our enquiries have been ongoing and I am now appealing for the assistance of the public.

“I would ask anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information which could assist us to get in touch.

“I would also ask anyone who was in the area around the time and who may have dash cam or private CCTV to contact us.

“Anyone with any information is asked to call 101 quoting reference 1692 of April 24, 2025.”
