An investigation has been launched after a woman and child were assaulted at a music festival in Brechin.

The 25-year-old and eight-year-old boy were at Summers End Festival on August 16 when they were assaulted at the main stage between 9pm and 10pm.

Both were uninjured but left “shaken” by the incident.

Police are now searching for the suspect, described as being in her late 40s to early 50s, around 5ft 4in tall, with blonde, medium-length hair.

She was wearing a black mesh t-shirt with a vest top underneath and red lipstick.

The suspect was seen with another man and a woman, both described as in their 60s. The woman had white or blonde short hair and was wearing dark clothing and glasses. The man had very short hair and was wearing a dark green T-shirt.

Constable Julie McCabe said: “This incident left the victims understandably shaken and our enquiries are ongoing.

“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information which could assist to contact us.

“I would also ask anyone who was filming at the event around the time to check the footage to see if they have captured anything that could assist.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101, quoting reference 2813 of August 17, 2026.
