An investigation has been launched after reports of a firearm being discharged in Aberdeen.
Police received a report that a car had driven along Ruthrieston Crescent and fired what appeared to be a firearm towards a property around 10.40pm on Saturday.
Officers attended and carried out a search of the area, but no suspects were traced.
No injuries were reported, and there were no reports of damage to properties.
Detectives are now appealing for anyone who saw something suspicious in the area that night or who seen or has footage of a red hatchback vehicle in the area.
Detective Inspector Bruce Buntain said: “I understand that this will be concerning for the community, but I would like to reassure them that extensive enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this incident.
“I am appealing to anyone who has any information, or saw something suspicious in the area that night, to come forward and speak with officers.
“I am particularly keen to speak with anyone who has seen, or has footage, of a red hatchback vehicle, possibly a Vauxhall Astra, that was captured in the area at the time of the incident.
“If you live in the local area and have private CCTV or dash-cam footage, please review this to see if it has captured anything that could assist with our investigation.
“Anyone with concerns or information is encouraged to approach officers, who remain in the area while enquiries are carried out, or call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3543 of October 10, 2026.
“Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted where information can be passed anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
