Hunt for driver who fled scene of three crashes in under 30 minutes

Police are appealing for anyone who saw the car with damage to the front and passenger-side wing mirror to get in touch.

A hunt has been launched for a driver who failed to stop at the scene of three separate crashes in the Forth Valley area.

The black car, possibly a 12-plate Ford Focus, was involved in three incidents between 4.45pm and 5.10pm on Thursday, November 28.

The driver first crashed on the M9 northbound at Junction 6 near Grangemouth before crashing again on the M876 southbound at Junction 1 near Bonnybridge.

The third collision was reported on Glasgow Road, Head of Muir, close to the junction with Drove Loan.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incidents.

Investigations are ongoing to trace the damaged black car and its driver.

Constable John Lang said: “We attended each of these incidents, and thankfully, there were no injuries reported.

“Our enquiries are ongoing to trace the black car and its driver, and I would appeal to the public for any information they may hold.

“Each of the roads were busy at the time and I would ask anyone who witnessed these crashes or anyone with dashcam to please review their footage and contact us if it holds anything relevant.

“If you saw a black car being driven between these locations or you have seen a black car with collision damage to the front and the passenger-side wing mirror then please let us know.”
