A 12-year-old boy on a bike was struck by a car in a hit-and-run in Dundee.

Police in Dundee are appealing for information following the collision on the A90 Kingsway East around 6.05pm on Thursday.

The incident happened at the pedestrian crossing near to Kingsway Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Station.

The child, a 12-year-old boy, was crossing the road on his black and blue pedal bike when he was hit by a black Citroen Berlingo-style vehicle travelling south in lane two.

The car failed to stop at the scene, continuing towards Scott Fyffe Roundabout.

The boy was not seriously injured in the incident.

Constable Emma Scott, from Downfield Police Station, said: “We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or may have dashcam footage from the area around the time, to please come forward.

“Anyone with information can call police on 101, quoting incident 3830 of October 1.

“Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.”
