A major clean-up operation was taken out on a busy road in Moray after a lorry carrying hundreds of dead fish spilled some of its load.
BEAR Scotland were called out to the incident on the A96 Inverness to Aberdeen road, at the Lochoire Junction, at around 9.25am on Thursday.
Pictures from the scene show hundreds of dead fish spilled all over the road, as drivers are caught in a traffic standstill.
Police Scotland put traffic restrictions in place as the clean-up operation took place, with drivers stuck in queues for more than an hour.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A lorry lost some of its load when it braked.
“The road was cleared by BEAR and there was no criminality.”
A spokesperson for BEAR Scotland: “At around 9.25am this morning a BEAR team came across an incident involving a spillage of fish on the A96 at Lochoire Junction near Threaplands Garden Centre.
“They advised our Control Room as no vehicle was at the scene and asked for Police Scotland to be informed before starting clear up operations.”
