A huge blaze has ripped through a disused Aberdeen paper mill for the second time in six months.
Emergency services were alerted to a fire in the former Stoneywood Mill building in Bucksburn at around 11.15pm on Friday, July 17.
Images from the scene show large flames and plumes of smoke billowing into the air.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said six appliances and specialist resources were sent to the scene and worked overnight to bring the blaze under control.
A police cordon was also put in place on Stoneywood Terrace.
Https://www.facebook.com/FubarNews/A statement from the fire service at around 12.30am said: “Residents on and around Stoneywood Terrace in Aberdeen are being advised to keep windows and doors shut due to heavy smoke from a nearby fire at a derelict building.
“The incident is ongoing, and we currently have six fire appliances at the scene, including specialist resources.”
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has been reached for further comment.
It is the second time the site has been hit by fire in six months. Three boys were charged after a blaze at the mill in March that police described as deliberate.
The site was also the scene of a fire in August 2024.
The paper mill has stood empty since entering administration in September 2022 after borrowing around £12m of public money to save the business.
