A Fife social care worker has been struck off the register after he was convicted of possessing indecent images of children.
Gary Sala was found guilty of having indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children between March 6, 2022 and October 11, 2023.
He was convicted at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on October 17, 2024.
The Scottish Social Services Council determined that Sala’s behaviour was “fundamentally incompatible” with the organisation’s “principles”.
The report read: “Your behaviour that led to your conviction took place over an 18-month period. We therefore cannot assess this as an isolated incident.
“This pattern of behaviour indicates a higher risk of repetition.
“If the behaviour were to be repeated, it would contribute to the ongoing sexual abuse and exploitation of the children involved and would have a lasting detrimental impact on the wellbeing of said children”.
