Adobe StockA schoolgirl has been arrested following youth anti-social behaviour in Dundee city centre.
Police were called to Reform Street around 8.40pm on Friday following reports of an assault.
No one required hospital treatment, and officers say they are following a “positive line of enquiry”.
A 14-year-old girl was arrested in connection with assaulting a police officer, and a report is due to be sent to the Youth Justice Assessor.
Chief inspector Colin Echevarria said: “Anti-social behaviour like this is not acceptable and we are aware of the harm it causes to businesses and the wider community.
“Enquiries are ongoing to identify those involved and patrols are being carried out in areas where youths are known to gather.
“We are continuing to work with partners, including Dundee City Council, to combat this kind of behaviour.
“Educating young people is vital, and a number of activities are being rolled out in the coming weeks.
“I would urge parents and guardians to make sure they know where young teenagers are, as they too can assist with combating anti-social behaviour.
