Four residents die from coronavirus at village care home

Four residents at Crimond House in Aberdeenshire died in April, its operator confirmed.

Four residents at a care home in Aberdeenshire have died after contracting coronavirus.

Crimond House confirmed there had been “a number of cases” of Covid-19 at the facility.

However, the home revealed all residents were currently clear and said “rigorous infection control procedures” were being followed.

A spokeswoman said: “The health and safety of our residents is our top priority and we have taken all measures possible to minimise the potential outbreak of Covid-19.

“There were a number of cases at Crimond House and very sadly four residents died last month following a positive Covid-19 test.

“Where possible a family member was present and our thoughts and condolences are with all family and friends during this very difficult time.

“We also support staff who developed relationships with residents and their families.

“Full testing of our residents has just been completed with results over the weekend confirming that all residents are clear of Covid-19 at this time.

“We continue to follow rigorous infection control procedures in line with Health Protection Scotland guidance.”
