Four men have appeared in court over a “life-threatening attack” after a teenager was stabbed in Moray.

Emergency services were alerted to the incident which happened on High Street in Forres at around 1.40am on Sunday.

A 17-year-old was taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin where he was treated for a stab wound.

Mark Hogan, Jeffery Hewitson, and Fraser McIntyre, from Moray, as well as Bailey Hogan from Middlesbrough, appeared at Elgin Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

All four men were charged with assault to severe injury and danger to life.

Bailey Hogan, 19, was also charged with breach of peace.

The four men made no plea during their appearances.

Mark Hogan, Hewitson and McIntyre were committed for further examination and remanded in custody.

The three men are expected to make another appearance within eight days.

Bailey Hogan was committed for further examination, released on bail and is expected to appear again at a later date.
