Four appliances and specialist units called to tackle high street blaze

A large emergency services response has been mobilised to tackle a commercial building fire in Angus.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to the blaze on Monifieth’s High Street at around 3.45pm on Thursday.

Six appliances, including a high-rise tender, are still working to extinguish the flames. There are no reported casualties.

An SFRS spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 3.45pm on Thursday, March 26, to reports of a fire within a commercial building on High Street in Monifieth, Angus.

“Operations Control mobilised four fire appliances, a high reach appliance and specialist resources to the area.

“There are no reported casualties, and crews remain in attendance at the scene.”
