Five people have been charged after more than £21,000 worth of cocaine was seized in a raid.

Police targeted an address on Elphinstone Road within the Port Elphinstone area of Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, on Friday.

During the intelligence-led operation, officers from Inverurie’s Community Policing Team (CPT) were supported by a specialist dog unit and CID detectives.

Following a search of the property, officers recovered cocaine worth a maximum potential street value of £21,300.

Five people were arrested and charged in connection with the discovery and are expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court at a later date.

Sergeant John Kearney said: “I would like to thank the public for the information they have provided which has led to the recovery of a significant amount of controlled drugs.

“This should serve as a reminder to those involved in the supply of drugs that your behaviour will not be tolerated by the local community or the policing teams that serve them.

“Police Scotland will continue to take robust action to disrupt the activities of those involved in drug crime.”

If you have concerns regarding drugs in your area, report it via 101 or through Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
