Firefighters tackle blaze at school as roads closed

Firefighters were called to scene just before 10pm on Friday.

Firefighters are tackling a well developed blaze at a school in Aberdeen.

The fire has been ongoing overnight and nearby roads are closed until further notice.

Emergency services were called to Cordyce Secondary School on Riverview Drive at around 9.50pm on Friday.

No one was injured in the incident

Fire crews remain at the scene on Saturday afternoon and Riverview Drive is currently closed between Balloch Way and Todlaw Walk with members of the public asked to stay away.

Police are now appealing for information.

Detective Constable Stuart Hache, of Aberdeen CID, said: “The fire is ongoing but thankfully no one has been injured.

“Enquiries into the cause of the fire are underway and there will be a continued police presence in the area.

“Anyone who has any information, please contact us on 101.”
