Firefighters battle blaze after fire breaks out at nursery

Emergency services were alerted to reports of a fire early on Friday morning.

Fire crews have rushed to the scene of a blaze at a nursery in Angus.

Emergency services were called to The Wendyhouse Nursery in Forfar at around 7.51am on Friday morning after reports of a fire within the building.

Three appliances were sent to the premises on North Street as crews continue to tackle the blaze.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service say no injuries have been reported as a result of the fire.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were alerted at 7.51am on Friday, February 9 to reports of a fire within a commercial building on North Street, Forfar.

“Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances to the scene.

“No injuries have been reported and firefighters are working to make the area safe.”

Police Scotland said it was assisting fire crews with traffic management at the scene.
