Fire crews were dispatched to the scene of a blaze in a lay-by on Wednesday.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident on Stonehaven Road heading into Aberdeen at around 8.49pm.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service mobilised two appliances to extinguish the flames. Firefighters are still on the scene.
A picture of the area shows a cloud of black smoke billowing into the sky and bright orange flames emanating from the source.
The nature of the fire is not known. It is also not known whether there have been any injuries
Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
