Funding decisions on three West Fife projects have had to be delayed after only one councillor turned up for a meeting where the applications were due to be considered.

Fife Council’s West Fife Area Common Good Sub-Committee had been asked to approve three requests for cash from the West Fife Common Good budget.

However committee convener, Councillor Gordon Pryde, was the only elected representative who made the online meeting scheduled for Monday morning.

Up on the agenda had been a bid for £17,950 for essential maintenance and improvements at Townhill Woods and a request for a £11,680 allocation which would allow essential path improvements at Townhill Loch’s Water Ski Centre.

An application from the Inverkeithing Trust for £58,550 was also due to be considered to support the replacement, rebuilding and modernisation of a children’s play park in the gardens of the A-Listed medieval Friary and Hospitium which is located next to the town’s Civic Centre and Community Garden.

Councillor Pryde and council officers waited the required ten minutes in case additional councillors joined the meeting, however it was then declared “inquorate”.

“It is obviously disappointing,” said Councillor Pryde. “Can I thank officers for attending and apologise that the meeting could not go ahead.”

The committee is made up of councillors Auxi Barrera, Aude Boubaker-Calder, Patrick Browne, Sarah Bruce Neal, Gordon Pryde and Conner Young.

A new date is set to be determined when the items will be considered.
