Fencing at Radio One's Big Weekend in Dundee 'extensively damaged' 

Police have launched an appeal for information after fencing at Camperdown Park was vandalised ahead of the festival.

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after fencing at Radio One’s Big Weekend in Dundee was “extensively damaged”.

Officers were called to Camperdown Park, where the festival is set to be held from May 26 to 28, after receiving reports that fencing at the site had been vandalised between Monday and Wednesday.

The damage is set to lead to a “significant financial impact” on the event organisers.

A witness appeal has been launched and officers are particular keen to trace a Red VW Golf which was seen in the area between 1pm and 2pm on Tuesday.

A police spokesperson said: “Between 15/05 and 17/05, fencing at the Radio One Big Weekend, Camperdown Park, Dundee has been extensively damaged and is likely to lead to a significant financial impact on the event organisers.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything taking place or persons who appeared suspicious in the area.

“Specifically, A Red VW Golf which was seen in the area between 1pm and 2pm on 16/05/23.

“We are appealing for anyone who may have been driving around the area between those times to check any dashcam footage they may have.

“Anyone with information that may be able to assist, please call 101 quoting reference number CR/60957/23.”
