A female police officer has been taken to hospital after a marked police car was involved in a crash with another vehicle in Aberdeen city centre.

The incident happened at around 1.30pm on Guild Street.

Photographs from the scene showed emergency services in attendance and a badly-damaged marked police car.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.30pm on Sunday, 5 November, 2023, a marked police car was involved in a crash with another vehicle on Guild Street, Aberdeen.

“Officers attended and a female police officer was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.  There were no other reported injuries.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
