Family pay tribute to 'deeply loved son' killed in motorbike crash in Aberdeenshire

The family of a teenager who died in a motorbike crash in Aberdeenshire have paid tribute to their “deeply loved son”.

Emergency crews were called to the B9031, Macduff to Fraserburgh road, at around 5.30pm on Monday after a crash involving a black Honda CB500.

Kayden Thompson, 17, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His family have said they are “devastated” by the loss.

A statement shared through Police Scotland said: “We are devastated at the loss of our deeply loved son, brother, grandson and nephew, Kayden. He will be missed by all who knew him, especially family.

“Kayden, also known as Kayda and K: forever 17 and forever Dawn and Alan’s little boy.”

Sergeant Pete Henderson said: “Our thoughts are with Kayden’s family and friends at this very difficult time.

“Our enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened.

“I’d like to thank everyone who has come forward with information so far. Your assistance is appreciated. If anyone else has information and has yet to come forward, I’d ask them to please do so. I’m especially keen to hear from anyone with dash-cam footage.”

Police continue to appeal for witnesses. A spokesperson said: “If you can help, please call 101, quoting reference 2462 of August 24.”
