Family of missing Angus woman grow increasingly concerned after ‘out of character’ disappearance Police Scotland

The family of a missing woman from Angus are growing increasingly concerned for her safety after she disappeared in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Gillian Sturrock was reported missing from Carnoustie around 5am after she was last seen in the Ravensby Road area.

The family of the 39-year-old say her disappearance is out of character as she would not normally be out of contact with them for this length of time.

It is thought she may have been in the Kellas and Wellbank areas of Angus later on Thursday.

Police believe she may be driving her black Citroen CT car with the registration number SP12 UNZ. An image of the vehicle has been released in case members of the public have spotted it since Ms Sturrock was reported missing.

The car police believe Ms Sturrock may have been driving.

Ms Sturrock is described as white, approximately 5ft 7in tall, of a medium to heavy build with blonde shoulder length hair.

She was possibly wearing a black fleece jacket.

Inspector Mahboob Ahmad of Carnoustie Police Station said: “We are growing increasingly concerned for Gillian as time passes and I would ask anyone who may have information to get in touch urgently.

“We have released an image of her black Citroen C1 car and I would ask anyone who believes they may have seen the vehicle at any time since Thursday morning to let us know.

“Anyone with any information should contact police via 101 or contact any police officer, quoting reference 1389 of October 20.”
