Fire crews rescue eight ducklings found trapped in drain

A group of ducklings were reunited with their mother after being rescued from a drain in Perth.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called on Monday morning to reports of eight ducklings trapped in a drain on North Methven Street.

One appliance was sent to the scene, where the ducklings were rescued and reunited with their mother.

Fire crews then left the area, ensuring it was made safe.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 8.44am on Monday, May 4, to reports of eight ducklings trapped in a drain on North Methven Street, Perth.

“Operations Control mobilised one appliance to assist with the rescue of the ducklings, which were reunited with their mother duck.

“Firefighters left after ensuring the area was safe.”
